Japanese maple Shishigashira, Bonsai, 10 years, 28cm
Description
10 years old Japanese Shishigashira maple in a bonsai pot. This bonsai is approx. 28cm high and was imported directly from a japanese bonsai nursery.
The Shishigashira maple (botanical Acer palmatum Shishigashira, family maples - Aceraceae) is a maple variety with small, curled, green leaves on very short leaf stalks. They turn bright orange to red in autumn.
The Shishigashira maple is very popular as a bonsai because of its compact growth. This variety is rarely offered in the trade.
Like all maple species the Shishigashira also requires a well-drained soil. It should be kept evenly moist without over watering.
If the Shishigashira is protected from drying out in winter, he tolerates well low temperatures below zero. A semi-shaded to sunny location is suitable.
The Shishigashira is mostly imported from Japan. As a garden tree it grows to a height of about 2-3m.
When ordering, you will always get the bonsai displayed on the picture (no. 101-03).
Important note on the size: A bonsai is a tree in a bonsai pot. For this reason the size of the bonsai is in every case the size with the bonsai pot.
