Description

16 years old Pomegranate tree in a bonsai pot. This tree is approx. 38cm high and was imported directly from a japanese bonsai nursery.

The pomegranate (also Grenadine, botanical Punica granatum, family Lythraceae) is distinguished by its flowers. The orange to bright red, large flowers bloom from spring to summer and enjoy every year.

The fruits contain many, eatable fleshy-coated seeds.

The home of the Pomegranate ranging from Turkey to Pakistan. In the Mediterranean region it is grown in culture for centuries.

The pomegranate as a bonsai prefers a well-drained, nutrient-rich substrate and a sunny place.

Grenadine bonsai tolerates a very strong pruning and it is well suited for beginners.

Temperatures below 0°C will be tolerated for a short period but should be avoided permanently.

When ordering, you will always get the bonsai displayed on the picture (no. 161-14).

Important note on the size: A bonsai is a tree in a bonsai pot. For this reason the size of the bonsai is in every case the size with the bonsai pot.
