12 years old Szechuan pepper in a bonsai pot. This tree is approx. 50cm high and we deliver it with a saucer plate.
The Szechuan pepper (commonly known as Flower pepper, Mountain pepper, Chinese pepper, Japanese pepper, Aniseed pepper, Sansho, Nepal pepper, Indonesian lemon pepper, botanical Zanthoxylum piperitum (also Operculicarya decaryi, Xanthoxylum piperitum), family Rutaceae) is originated in China (Sichuan).
In asia it is widely used as a spice. It is not, as the name suggests, related to the pepper, but with the citrus plants.
This indoor bonsai has yellow wood and roots and grows in nature up to 3m height.
The Szechuan pepper can be held outdoors in summer. In winter, a cool bright window place is an advantage. Temperatures down to 5°C are well tolerated.
When ordering, you will always get the bonsai displayed on the picture (no. 121-36).
Important note on the size: A bonsai is a tree in a bonsai pot. For this reason the size of the bonsai is in every case the size with the bonsai pot.
