13 years old Brush cerry in a bonsai pot. This tree is approx. 53cm high.
Syzygium buxifolium (Brush cerry, botanical also Syzygium paniculatum, Eugenia buxifolia, family Myrtaceae) is a small flowering tree originated in China (south-east), Japan and Vietnam.
It grows in sparse forests up to an altitude of 1000m. The typical average temperature in its natural habitat in summer is 15°C and 5°C in winter (it can fall below 0°C).
Syzygium buxifolium is an evergreen tree. The foliage is similar, as the name suggests, to buxus, but is something finer.
The small white flowers appears from June to August, followed by small black fruits in October to December.
The Syzygium is well suited as an indoor bonsai. But should be kept very light, not too hot and not too damp in winter. Even light frosts be tolerated.
When ordering, you will always get the bonsai displayed on the picture (no. 131-06).
Important note on the size: A bonsai is a tree in a bonsai pot. For this reason the size of the bonsai is in every case the size with the bonsai pot.
